What makes a maple syrup organic? Isn't all maple syrup organic? We get asked that question all of the time! The short answer is no, and here we try to provide a detailed and informative explanation to why the answer is no (and also provide a few thoughts at the end about why sometimes that answer is misleading).
When we consider organic certifications, we think about 3 major requirements: 1. What goes into your product (organic ingredients); 2. How you treat the land (manage for sustainability); 3. Your process (how you clean and manage any potential contaminants). In this article, we try to provide examples of what makes a maple syrup organic as it pertains to each of these requirements.

Happy Spring 2018! As I'm sitting down the write this we've just gotten about 2 feet of snow, so I guess that's spring in Maine! These sweet and savory morsels will be the highlight of any summer gathering. The fresh basil and mozzarella topped with a punch of sweet & tart maple balsamic reduction is mouth-wateringly delicious!
